Before you start playing, take a close look at the notes. Do you understand everything? Are there difficult moments? If there are difficult moments, try to imagine how you will play them on your instrument.

Start playing slowly. There is no need to play at the original tempo. Play at the tempo you need to see and play every note. Your goal is accuracy, rhythm and pace. Not the speed. You have to get used to the idea that the music will be played by you only once.
