As you noticed the 1st and 2nd rhythmic etudes is in 4/4 time signature. The most common meter in music is 4/4. Each measure (or bar) of 4/4 has 4 quarter note beats in it. It’s so popular that it is often referred to as “common time”. This meter is used in a variety of genres, however most frequently in rock, blues, country, funk, jazz and pop music.

4/4 time is most often used in Western genres of music.

The tempo we have chosen for the etudes is 100 beats per minute (BPM). This is an average pace sufficient for comfortable reading of music. If you want to change the tempo, click on the three dots on the right side of the player and change the tempo.
